about something new, Craig on COF, in with others post
"Robert will have all of the details soon. Until then, no spoilers from me."
"Hmm, why is Roger O'Donnell trying to figure out which way water runs down the drain in Australia? "rogerodonnell - You know I could have sworn the water swirled in the other direction in Australia? Bloody Google ruins everything..." Is it a clue? A red herring? An impossible astronaut? The mystery continues! : )"
"Back on topic, I will be very surprised if we don't hear something official this week. Possibly tomorrow. Though I really wouldn't hold your breath on that."

We can't confirm or deny the rumour about The Cure but we can share their music (VividSydney) Music Feeds reports that Vivid artist AZARI & III have confirmed that The Cure are playing, and The Music Network has a report on the VividSydney tweet.( CoF)

Still nothing...
From Craig : Like I said before, it will most likely happen this week, though it has been delayed before. But if no announcement today, just be assured that very good things are happening today. : )

AS OF NOW...
'REFLECTIONS' IS A SPECIAL - A ONE TIME ONLY (TWO TIMES ONLY?!!) EVENT - FILMED BOTH NIGHTS WITH A VIEW TO CREATING A DVD...
AS THINGS STAND WE HAVE NO PLANS TO PLAY THIS SHOW ANYWHERE ELSE...
BUT THEN LAST MONTH I THOUGHT BESTIVAL WAS GOING TO BE THE FIRST CURE SHOW OF THE YEAR!!!
WE WILL SEE WHAT THIS 'REFLECTIONS' EXPERIENCE IS LIKE BEFORE MAKING ANY DECISIONS AS TO WHOWHENWHEREWHAT OR HOW...

from curefans.com " According off what Halo Cure (Rev Heron) wrote on her Face Book she spoke to Robert and he confirmed that Porl shall be part off the line-up @ Bestival " update:Clarification from HaloCure (she wrote this in YouTube, reply to the Charlotte Sometimes Sydney video): "I did not say that Porl was coming back for Bestival. I said I would bring a book for him IF he's there. Please don't blow this up and take my words out of context. I told Jason I would bring one for him and one for Porl. I'm HOPING he will be there to get it. There is NO official word whatsoever about the Bestival lineup, especially not from me!! Thanks" curefans.com

Canyons Cure Collaboration CannedIf it weren’t for Sydney’s Canyons, The Cure’s recent visit to Australia may never have happened. About eight months ago, the duo approached frontman Robert Smith to sing on a track from their forthcoming album, Crystal Castles-style. While nothing eventuated, the request got the lines of communication flowing between Smith and the band’s label Modular. A follow-up email from Modular boss Stephen Pavlovic, and The Cure’s recent two-night stint at the Opera House in Sydney for Vivid LIVE began to take shape. “We sent him [Smith] the track and the lyrics and he was into it but then I think he just got too busy and it didn't end up happening,” Canyons’ Leo Thomson told M+N. “We waited for ages because obviously we really wanted it to happen, but in the end we just needed to finish the album. Then we found out Pav was bringing him out for Vivid, which kind of came from us speaking with him.” With Smith in Australia, the band thought they’d have “one last crack” at the collaboration, but says Thomson, the iconic singer “just didn't have time to do it”. So who’s doing the vocal now? Another New Wave luminary in Paul Roberts from UK outfit Sniff‘n’The Tears. Readers might remember their 1978 hit ‘Driver’s Seat’. Canyons debut album will be out through Modular in October. www.messandnoise.com/news/4271541
